Meter Lamps..

Post by JibberJabber »

I know there have been many q's on what's being used... But does anyone have a 'current' link for replacement lamps for my Cobra 2000 GTL.. I'm not one for messing with radios.. Just straight forward replacements old style and led options..

Thanks for any help..

You can get a pack of 10 on eBay from something like £2.25, from UK sellers.

Make sure that what you buy is the same mA rating as the original, too high an mA and you'll melt the meter.

Shouldn't really be an issue with the 2000 GTL as you could move them back a bit . Saying that don't go sticking in any 10A bulbs just in case :)

I've seen some signal meters with a 12V Christmas tree lights bulb fitted!, easy to tell as they are pointed and much longer and the soldered on wires are quite something else.

Not seen a Christmas tree light in a meter for years. One of the favourite tricks around here seems to be fitting Video lamps.

I used white leds in a radio that had bust meter lamps, they looked ok but were a bit too bright.

I use the warm while LEDS. Look like standard bulbs, but with all of the advantages of an LED.

There is no such thing as a Fidelity 1000 which is too good to scrap.
