Post by Tom »

Thinking about swapping my mark 2 cobra which is standard .for a 3900 only because they cover every thing will regret it but would cost me to have the cobra mods done so any one in the Gloucestershire .that has a 3900 must be good condition will meet up .you have a job to get a cobra mark 2 that has not been touched will not post

It wouldn't cost much to get the cobra expanded to 5 bands and have the +10kc shift fitted. Post it to Nick (Black Spirit) and it will come back working better than any 3900 and probably cost you less than it will to change radios.

Don't forget that the one you buy may also need alignment etc and many as standard don't have the +10kc shift

Keep it . I mean how many people are there to talk to on the other 3 bands ?? You could send it to Nick as Simon says , but I'd just keep it standard . If you want more channels then save up and buy another cheapo radio .

They are pretty straightforward to make 5 bands, and to get the +10kc shift fitted.

Or an Eprom would make it even easier. You can post a radio to Nick for about £6.50 each way with myhermes, done it loads of times. Or have a drive out his way? He is probably about 55 miles from you.
