Just arrived today, took a chance one morning during the week , had only just been listed by a company that looked like a clearance company, was originaly asking £95, put in an offer off £75 and got it, mk2 with so far not one mod found on it, original bezel and faceplate / bracket and thumb screws. the rear serial plaque still has its original plastic over the thing..only downside was no original cobra coffin mic but will sort that out soon enough !! bought another one at the tail end off last week, another lovely well sorted super high to super low mk2 from a well respected tm1 member from wales. so now got two

Cheers mate yep did not set out for two off them but at 75quid this additional one was certainly worth a try ?! Knew it looked decent in the photos but dare say we have all been there before ! So was obviously delighted when it arrived in the condition its in and the fact is still standard. At least with it being standard anything required mod wise can be done by someone you trust when required !

Well done gmham. For £75 that's a stunning set.
Not in the same league, but I picked this odd looking dummy load for a steal on a best offer. Not seen one with two connections before. I'm guessing it's 100W constant and 500W short TX if the lettering is correct. It actually works too!

Maxcom 30E
pretty tidy, but needs a replacement switch.
I like these old Maxcom Muppet sets.

There is no such thing as a Fidelity 1000 which is too good to scrap.

Re: What CB/11m Radio Stuff did you buy today? (2017)
I'm not normally a collector of UK40 fm only radios but as it happens, I had a chance to buy both a Fidelity 2000 & a 2001. The 2000 I believe is a decent Cybernet chassis and the 2001 is the same as the chassis on the Japanese made Amstrad 901.
Both radios are in superb condition. Some pictures of the 2001.
Boxed with all of the original paperwork. Manual, warranty card, aerial installation guide, even an application for an extended warranty. Power lead looks as though it has been wrapped up since new and the microphone looks unused. A small mark beside the volume control stops it from being mint.
I now have boxed examples of all the UK40 radios I owned and used during the early eighties, so from a nostalgic perspective, I'm quite chuffed.

Re: What CB/11m Radio Stuff did you buy today? (2017)
I used a 42 channel Fid2000 for a year or so and found it to be great little radio. Was never as keen on the looks of the later 2001 as the knobs looked weedy and too far apart compared to the 2000. I stuck to a Harvard 420m which was basically the same as the 2000 after that for a couple of years.
A good find

I know what you mean about the knobs on the later model but it worked well, probably had a slightly better receiver than the 2000.The Collector wrote: ↑13 Nov 2017, 23:06 I used a 42 channel Fid2000 for a year or so and found it to be great little radio. Never owned any Harvard but liked the look of the 420m.
