I too have a fully working globephone gs 480 dx. Got it from eBay Germany a few years ago.

Yes, they are - in addition to the Harvard 402 and one or two others that I can't recall just now.

theres also a nato version you can tell its an amstrad board by the blue pwr button on the back panel
