Havnt a long enough length of coax on the sirio magmount
And I've read quality isn't good from factory anyway
I've scanned over the bay but I'm not sure what I'm looking for spec wise or sellers don't list full spec anyway.
Anyone point me in the direction of a good quality 58 coax at right price .
Cheers
Best quality RG 58 ,who sells it ?

RG mini
I have 213 for the base and just bought rg8 to replace my wire feed ,it arived yesterday and I never would have guessed it was so close in dia to rg58.
I'm going to replace the mag cable with rg8 after all ,makes sense .
Thanks chaps

If you're talking mag mount to radios - and the distance is the usual car length - there's very little point comparing thinner cables as the losses are small enough to hardly make the extra cost worthwhile. Even the cheap stuff is ok up to 5 or 6m.

Thank you for the advice.
Still looking where to run the coax through the car.
Can't drop it through the door rubbers as it damages coax even thin stuff too smaller gap .going to Take it through boot seal rubber much more gap no damage just finding best side to mount radio and run coax easily so as it won't get caught ,damaged.
If theirs very little diff I may even use a connector to extend coax if it doesn't effect swr or signal.

You could use RG316, which will go through car rubber seals.
It's 2.6mm diameter, will take high power, and for a 3m run at 27MHz will be practically no difference to RG58. But adapting thin cable to the magmount will be a problem.

Try Rocket Radio in Leicestershire. They do a good line in mini 8 and can cut to specific lengths and can supply with either PL259 or SO239 ends
