Re: Lincoln 2 or grant 2 which is the better performer?
Have had my Grant II now a couple of hours and without being able to compare it with the Lincoln II yet i can say the RX and recieve is simular to the Jackson II, both radios are very crisp and clear on RX.

Confused!
Grant 2 is a CB radio and Lincoln 2 is a 10m amateur radio.
How are you comparing the two radios on their respective frequency bands?

Put the 2 side by side on USB and you can hear the difference! both radios can be opened up to get the same frequency.

In that case a CB radio is better than an Amateur Radio.rocket wrote:Confused!

Simples.
Echo on the Amateur radio and the CB looks professional.
Imagine that!!!!

Apart from the fact that warranty is now clearly out the window, has comparison of both radios been performed on both CB and ham bands?Vapor wrote:rocket wrote:Confused!

Re: Lincoln 2 or grant 2 which is the better performer?
of course they have by many people, i wanted the lincoln 2 for 10 meter SSB but it sounds awfull and clipped on SSB. when working medium strength stations its not so bad, weak stations are fine, but when you get a lift on and the band is really open it will suffer with bad clipping of the audio.rocket wrote:Apart from the fact that warranty is now clearly out the window, has comparison of both radios been performed on both CB and ham bands?Vapor wrote:rocket wrote:Confused!

The Lincoln sounds ok-ish, but the Grant sounds really good.

There is no such thing as a Fidelity 1000 which is too good to scrap.

As always I say: Lincoln 2 is NOT a real President. It's a cheap expensive Anyclone!

Re: Lincoln 2 or grant 2 which is the better performer?
what about trying with the hicut off on both and see what that sounds like any better or worse?
as for warranty whats that to do with it? wont make it sound better or worse. some are selling both opened up with stickers so will still have the warranty
Most people want a good radio irrelevant if amateur or cb. If i wanted an amateur radio to use on 10m it certainly wouldn't be a lincoln I or II.
So far i have enjoyed all the videos and is great to see them as well as get an insight in to each persons technique i think everyone for doing so.
