Plenty are talking worldwide on 27.555 usb,
Some are too far up their own @rse to admit it,
Many happen to know otherwise dx-ing test free,
Showing a complete lack of respect for the law.

:?: :?: :?: Should the ASC work on SSB as well as AM/FM? I have just tried it out on mine and it doesn't work on SSB. :?: :?: :?:

No, ASC only works on AM/FM in this model. Jackson 1 ASC is different. There it works on SSB.

Not very much. Mine did max 30w SSB whisteling and 20w FM. Normal SSB power was 12-16w. Its not a real beast. ;)

You might be better off turning it down to around 8w AM/FM and 18W SSB then adding a linear.

4W AM /FM 12W SSB in Multi Norm setting and more in export setting after a minor modification.

I bought the Jackson 2 Chrome and it was a total pile of excrement....

All the controls were loose and wobbled every time I touched them and the SSB RX was terrible.

It's funny looking back at comments about how good some people said this radio was when in fact it was rubbish!!!!

Lucky President learned from their mistakes and then brought us the fabulous Lincoln 2... Hang on, wait a minute....

Lol

I am still wondering how the Lincoln 2 came out so bad when the CRE-8900/Alinco DR-135 and the Superstar 9900 are actually pretty decent.

They all use very similar internals, but obviously something went very wrong with the President version.

The Grant 2 wasn't much cop either.

I don't know if the components are still available , but remaking the old 6 bander Jackson would have been a much better investment in my eyes . Stick a counter socket on the back and Bob's your uncle .

Well if 3900 clones are still able to be built despite ROHS then I am sure the Jackson and all the other classics could as well.

Whatever happened to the Superstar JA Jackson clone?
