This is one of the early ones before they started using 6 way band switches.

With the band switch set to LOW the bands will be ABC [25.615 - 26.955] With the switch set to HI its bands DEF [26.965 - 28.305]

Switch on LOW
A = S.LO
B = LO.LO
C = LO

Switch on HI
D = MID
E = HIGH
F = HI.HI

Hope this helps.

The bands on this chart match the Dirlands bands. E14 is slightly wrong, but know one notices, I only do because of a bit of autism (not a joke by the way).

By far the very best version of the 3900. Also available in the "classic" chrome look. Excellent radio's. :D
Never, ever, ever....bloody anything ever!

Far too many radio's to list here. But I do own a legal one...

A quick google says its some kind of filter for CW, On some sets though it switched the beep on/off, See if the received tone on CW changes when pulled out, Or if it switches the beep off.

I think this may have been modded and it seams to go somewhere else I'll have to play somemore to try and figure it out

I love my Chrome version.....

What would one be worth as opposed to the "other" red display SS3900's you think? Mine is unmolested. Beep still intact.

It sounded good, perhaps a bit too much echo at times, but I think you were experimenting. I've forgotten how loud the 3900 bleep is!

Did you figure out the bands?

The mod is probably a UK 27/81 40 channel one so the channel readout is correct 1-40.

keep that window on the eprom chip covered, or you may find your added channels disappear.
