Is there a market still for these radios ?
Mine is still in its original box and has been for the past four years, it really should go to someone who would actually use it?

They still fetch a (disproportionately) decent price. A good one in the box should fetch £200+ on eBay, more if it has handles.
They don't float my boat, but each to their own.

This was one of the ones that were found in Romania some years back still boxed up, I guess the units had less than twenty mins talk time, crazy

If you trade radios and you live in Ireland then you should ask £499 for it.

Re: laffeyette telsat 805 on air.....
Thread ressurection....
I think i have the one that was listed on ebay in this thread for repair.
It has the SP059 processor fitted along with a ktone and uk 40 and has according to the paper work had some work done to cure a pulsing problem?
I know spectrum had this listed on his site at some point and a price of £60 to sort it.
All i can see he has done is retro fit the circuitry thats usually in these around the bias circuit ie the heat sensitive diodes that bolt in between the finals. He has however just fitted 1n4001 diodes in there and not the genuine diodes.
The tx fm audio was awful on it with that board fitted. It was really over compressed and nasal so i simply removed it and changed the limiting resisitor R159 and did the VCO Feed point changes and bias resistors (as descibed by swizzradios on youtube) and its spot on now.
Great audio in all modes now.

Still use mine regularly and love it. Mine was done by Nick a few years ago - all the audio mods, UKFM and a HYgain bleep. Great radio

Re: laffeyette telsat 805 on air.....
Im selling mine now.
Since I bought it the radio has never been used, I moved house two years back and it sat in the radio room alongside my ham gear.
I have nothing but a wire in the garden so never picked much up apart from a couple of welsh guys over the river.
I love the look of this radio but its wasted on me, here it sits all clean and shiny but radios should be used.
Ill put up a for sale add shortly if anyone is interested.
