WEST FM ROTHESAY TRANSMITTER

Post by radioenthusiast2011 »

Has any listeners noticed that the 106.7MHz West Fm transmitter is pretty clear particularly west of glasgow.
I have picked it up for a while now when in the car, almost around anywhere including the town.Does drop out at times but still receivable. Not using fancy antennas and no high ground!
Either power has been increased or new coverage or something.

i think Rothesay must be a brilliant location for getting out, probably due to the sea path i don't know how high up it is or how tall the mast is.

in the period between the merseyside station on 106.7 closing and the Irish station in Monaghan opening i could get Rothesay on 106.7 at low levels all the time unless the weather was absolutely foul

I105-107 in Monaghan is the dominant station for me here in Congleton now
best contact on PMR (0.5watts only): 21.5 miles (Congleton to Junction of A54/A556 near Kelsall 06/03/2011)
Best Contact on LPD (10mW only) 14.2 Miles (Congleton to The Roaches 18/04/2011)
