Tango Mike QSL Card Suggestions

Post by troutboy »

Well to keep the joining up thread clear i thought i'd start this thread to discuss the QSL cards. Also i thought it might get people thinking.

Any particular dimensions for the cards Simon. Just asking because if they are made too small and they aren't designed using vector graphics, enlarging them would cause a loss of clarity.

This whole DX club is really cooking with gas now don't you think. I think this DX club is starting to attract more new blood to T1 too now.

RE: Tango Mike DX Club Qsl Cards

Post by Transmission1 »

I was thinking of keeping the QSL Cards the same dimensions as a postcard (4 x 6") since many people own borderless printers this should be quite easy to achieve, not to mention fitting them into standard low cost envelopes. If the cards are designed to this size and printed at the same resolution they should come out fine. I'm just looking through my old QSLs and I'm going to upload a couple of the better ones here for inspiration.

When I used to DX we never used envelopes, just a postcard with a local map on it, you then stuck a pinhole through your QTH. Very illegal back in the mid 70's early 80's, we also made up credit card size QSL cards with our handle in pictorial form.

Simon, I've sent some QSL designs to the address at the top of the page via the contact button. They're nothing special but they are a card of some sorts.

Sometimes the monitor can tell lies so you don't see the truth until it's on paper. Tell us what you think Simon.
