FDK MULTI -750X

Post by StormShadow »

I have an FDK MULTI -750x works well no problems what so ever but one interesting thing I've found. When I TX using my collinear antenna it will put out just under 9watts. When I connect it with my homemade dipole, the radio then puts out 13 watts? this is a 10watt radio. Whats going on here? just interested.

It's a measurement error. If the two antenna systems have different impedances (and therefore different SWR's), the meter will show different power levels. The meter has been calibrated for a nice resistive 50-ohm load, and anything else will upset it. If you have a 50-ohm dummy load, try it on that.

The radio will read 10watts on a dummy load my SWR is always as flat as a pancake, its probably a measurement error with 13 watts reading on the dipole I've always had a cracking signal on it mind ya.
