HF loop antenna designs

Post by StormShadow » 10 Feb 2016, 22:30

I'm interested in making a HF loop sometime just too see how it performs and also I enjoy making things. I have plenty of wood to build the frame and a 100 foot of TV coax and tuning capacitors. I'd like to make it square rather than round as I'll be using wood to built it and something that will work for 160 meters up wards. I wouldn't mind seeing a few designs. I know I only need one tuning cap.

This one looks interesting

I suppose I could use one of these caps for the tuning I've got lots of them. I wont have to make one then.

Do the loops on the antenna have to be a specific diameter or doesn't it matter?
