AU as in Australia, African Union or somewhere else?

Australia on 2m would be a first.

Ah, silly me.

I know a TM1 member can get 5,000km on a bumfeng on 70cm, but Aus on 2m is impossible unless they have a parrot repeater on the ISS with a 30 minute delay.

**EDIT** Edited as I can't remember the guys handle, and it has ironic undertones.

I didn't have a radio with me but managed to see the aurora while out watching fireworks. Incidentally, are any of the slow digital modes any good for aurora?
