Need a bit more of a tx range than the Zastone ZT-2R offers. Any others? Was hoping a Puxing or something could RX AirBand but doesn't seem the case.

FT60R although to get the 6.25 spacing you have to program the memories via a comp like ive done... Superb AirBand rx...its as good as my vertex 220 airband transceiver

To get the most out of the airband VHF frequencies you really need a receiver with an 8.33 step the yeasu ft60 is a really nice bit of kit for ham 2 and 70 cms but i would consider purchasing a scanner with the dedicated step rate, on the plus side it gives you more kit to play with.73

Im assuming the OP wants to listen to aircraft comms localish to him... The 8.33 spacing is mandatory in stuff flying above FL195 and only in small portion of the upper freq band...
Can honestly say the twelve types i have on my book none to my knowledge had comms avionics with the 8.33khz spacing... If do think about buying a dedicated airband radio then buy a transceiver off Ebay like many i know have done... 8.33 spacing if needs be, crystal clear reception an you will get ur money bk wen u sell it on...
