Re: Getting started in CW
I'm going to buck the trend slightly by advising back in the day I successfully used a Datong morse tutor as the idea of receiving random characters kept me alert as I was becoming complacent and guessing the words in typical sentences. Especially after a lot of words and letters, throwing a few numbers in there was good practice.
I couldn't resist using the key and sending as I learned to increase receive. In them days it was 12 wpm - learned, up to speed and passed in less than 5 months. Then to my shame never used again!

Re: Getting started in CW
I took a break lol.
Now I'm a lot older & have remembering difficulties - things have slowed down.
So this CW lark is hard & gonna take quite some time, but I'll get there eventually.
