Didn't know it had a dodgy VFO tbh.
Certainly no issues observed with mine.

Lovely sounding sets. My first receiver was one of those. Wish I still had it.

I've been after one for a while..
this one was pretty cheap and got a free fluffy furball inside, knew my ex's soft make up brush would come in handy one day.
it's just the job for cleaning around the delicate bits inside

Hi Admiral . I've no idea m8 . This is the first ham radio that I've bought since I bought my TS-870 new back in 98/99Admiral wrote:707, nice, but the fairy lights were never for me.
I do remember these though , and the 757 . They seem to get a pretty decent review . Saying that I won't be keeping it for long anyway .

Sammy, the 707 has a fantastic reputation for sensitivity, reliability and all round goodness, they are still very popular, so if it works well, with all the homebase kit, don't let it go cheap, if all functional, I would want £350 for that set up.

Re: What Ham Radio stuff did you buy today!!!!!!
I used a 707 back in 85-87 as my main radio. Great on 40m & 80m.
As Admiral says, they are very reliable and work extremely well. Only issue I ever read about was the VFO assembly can become a bit bouncy and makes tuning a little difficult but easily fixed.
Hope you have fun Sammy.

Cracking radio the 707. Not many people who were hams back in the 80's haven't had one. I had a great time with mine.

Well as you all know i had 50 metres of HDF200 low loss coax for sale on here at a very reasonable price, had a couple of timewaster's on here saying they would "deffo" have it then letting me down, well today it turned out to be a blessing in disguise as a friend of mine swapped me the coax for a very clean S.E.M Tran Z match antenna tuner,so result!

Nice and they get glowing reviews. Only downside is they're only rated to 100 watts,Crusader wrote:Well as you all know i had 50 metres of HDF200 low loss coax for sale on here at a very reasonable price, had a couple of timewaster's on here saying they would "deffo" have it then letting me down, well today it turned out to be a blessing in disguise as a friend of mine swapped me the coax for a very clean S.E.M Tran Z match antenna tuner,so result!
