Re: Easter egg
I assume this is in relation to the post on HRD!
It may well be licenced and above board but I must have missed the part of the WTA 2006 where it says:
3.14.159 Enforcement powers: facilitation offences
(3) Subsection (1) DOES NOT apply if—
(a) a written authorisation has been issued by the Secretary of State or
OFCOM under section XXX(n) for the exercise of the powers mentioned
in section 44(4) in relation to a technically assigned licence holder, and
(b) the aforementioned licence holder has permission under section 3, 1, 41 or 59 to broadcast, for general reception, a beacon type of transmission and;
(c) modulates said carrier with MCW
(d) invites all and sundry on a public forum to listen to said transmission
(e) names said transmission an "easter egg"
BTW, nothing against you Phill - ask the Northern Crusader to reply for himself!

Re: Easter egg
Nah your pulling my leg. Tetra air wave can't be monitored, maybe there are some Tetra air wave scanners out there that will probably cost 80k that the secret service might have but then again they could just get a tetra on airwave which would be a lot cheaper so I doubt there is any such thing. Besides something that could break in to encrypted signals could open a another can of worms to monitor other things like encrypted satellite services etc etcthelad wrote:Yea just google it.

No seriously, a 20 quid raspbery pi, a 5 quid dongle and a bit of clever jiggery pokery that obviously can't be posted on an open forum. Quite a few of us are running these now, it's like the good old days again...
