York station was on the 453Mhz area I dont live near there any more I am way out in strensall now, call signs are Rail 1 2 3 4 etc

You have posted the freqs for the railways almost obsolete NRN network. This has been turned off in the South of England and will shortly be turned off in the North.
York Station staff use 453.550 which is the most common freq used at Stations.

They also use pmr446 channel 8 have rail shunters

I've never heard the shunters but perhaps a little handie won't pick em up from Heslington.

Shunting in the yard at York is on 460.1125.
The National Railway Museum use PMR446 in addition to thier licenced channels and UK General.
When West Coast Railways come to the city with charters including the Scarborough Spa Express they use PMR446.
The WTR lists 462.300 for the TPE Depot but cant confirm it. Those in York may want to give it a try and report.

TPE freq fed into the scanner. I'll try it out when I'm in York tomorrow.
