wounder if its going to be used then to link the vhf system upto airwave then, or maybe sim sort of backup solution. I have it programmed in on the scanner but nothing since the other day when quite clearly heard "engineers testing 12345" & a call to a hill top charlie who ever he might of been.

Re: 152.5875mhz
Google found me this.
152.5875 143.1125 NFM W. Yorkshire XW
Now, I wouldn't dream of trying various CTCSS tones on the input, no sir. Please don't do that.

As far as i can remember Wessie plod never used CTCSS on any of their comms....once 'talk thru' was enabled by control then it was game on an say what ye want cos everyone will hear it...
But just incase summat is going on im scanning the input n output bands...

Re: 152.5875mhz
AFAIK the only fire hilltop repeaters left in the area are in South Yorkshire. They haven't bothered to pay anyone to take the equipment away. The West Nab > HQ link 154.375 is still singing away but the Clifton > HQ link has recently given up. Not bad considering they've been continuously TX'ing untouched for about four years.radio_ryan wrote:Fell I pick up some think on 151.550 late night, but it could have been 151.5625 forgot to check AM but it was only 0 by 1. could tell their where voices there but to much backgroud to make them out. **But Gone this morning

Most of the 146-156MHz ex 999 spectrum is included in an Ofcom consultation debating it's future use. There was some temporary use during the Olympics of the 152MHz band with 6.25 offset, but this apparent new 'activity' is puzzling.

If it is like most government 'consultations', the government will have already decided what it is going to do.radtech wrote:Most of the 146-156MHz ex 999 spectrum is included in an Ofcom consultation debating it's future use.
The purpose of the consultation will be to convince the more naive members of the public that the government actually gives a damn what the public think; and when the complaints start rolling in, allow them to claim that 'several' respondents suggested whatever it is they've decided (although they won't be able to name them for reasons of confidentiality).

Re: 152.5875mhz
I think they are fielding opinion mainly from radio suppliers and large system admins to see if the spectrum is worth selling or whether it should just be added to the licencing pool.Minus1 wrote:If it is like most government 'consultations', the government will have already decided what it is going to do.radtech wrote:Most of the 146-156MHz ex 999 spectrum is included in an Ofcom consultation debating it's future use.

VHF is hardly prime stuff, so it's never going to fetch too much cash.

Using WTR Browser I see that it is licenced to Cambridgeshire Search And Rescue as area defined.. And a property management company in Central London under a site licence..
