On the TV well the news has been talking to fire officers, their fire ground radios look different to the on we have in Notts.
I was talking to a fire officer a few weeks a go now and he told me that they are changing there systems turn out/ DATA systems over to a new system and the radio systems in changing to some total different. but that's ours fire service.
Idea is there someone able to go to an open day in West Yorkshire and get a look at their radios to see what they are using that may be the only way we will find out.
I know they have gone to tetra in the engines and station but I thought in west Yorkshire they used analogue still on the fire ground as there would just be too many handsets
Previous to my last post I can confirm they do as I've just been listening to them putting a fire out at Dalton Mills in Keighley sounded like a big one

Channel 1 some talk Mode FM
Channel 5 Moto (Digital) No FM heard
Channel 6 Hard fire fighter talking about a fire, this seems to be the most activity channel (Mode FM)
No activity picked up on the other channel's so I would say try channel 6, So there will be 2 modes being used.
channels mean bugger all as every list I have seen is different so can you list freqs?
also what part of west yorks? as some areas use freqs for different things.
The Area was Huddersfield Holmfirth and the Holme Valley
But do not forget that channel 3 457.012.5 & 7 457.4875 can be different depending on the band plan.
there are 28 Fire Ground channels I have and 11 RAF Fire ground and crash Channels and also 4 Air field Fire Ground / Crash channels if I have worked it out right I have a list of a possible 42 Fire Ground VFO that could be used.

Dune that hopefully it will work. Hope the file are of some use.
Remember some of the input channel are also back to back channels, has I have heard them talking on the input and No activity on the output. e.g. Fire ground ch 1 has what we all know has the Ch1 but it also has an input channel too for use with or with out a repeater.
Let me know if you can under stand how I do my logs
Yes there and number of Fire Ground channel's which or not public knowledge. and some which are hard to fine listed.
I know there some I have not found has they have said a channel number and gone there but never pick any think up. and they where close has it was a full 5/9 on ch 1 before they moved due to a confect with another pump.
But I would Like to know what the DATA/Moto was on Ch 5 the other day.
Hope fully you will get some activity on them around me they started using ch 1 and 2 for the repeater
