I think you may be confusing things a little. I too work for TWM, or is that NXWM now ;)

The radio's moved over to MPT1327. They use trunking.

Works pretty well. Not sure where the local repeater is but I'm sure I'll find it eventually.

Right, well, I've not yet found the full up to date allocations list for what freq's are buses but I have the following.

So, I'm looking into getting the information right. I've had a look online but can't yet find a definitive source.

I've been told that the NBA expired 2002 and nothing should be above 200Mhz. Travel West Midlands use MPT1327 and whilst they are not digital they are trunked. The engineers working on the system say it is digital... Yeah right!

They're definitely MPT1327. All sites broadcast general calls as far as I'm aware (no way of knowing which site's coverage area a bus is likely to be in) but specific calls to a particular vehicle will only be routed to the site where that vehicle was last seen. MPT1327 does not hand over in the same way as cellular.

I do wonder if anyone can confirm whether the transmitter near the airport (which as far as I can tell is located on or near the Land Rover site somewhere) has a directional aerial..? I would have expected a far better signal in Solihull town centre from it if it were omnidirectional, however it is very weak there, but end-stop along the Coventry Road.

Incidentally, does anyone working for TWM (I do but can't find the information..!) or possibly Arqiva know whether it is still possible to dial from an internal phone to a radio..? It is possible to call a phone from a (hand portable) radio but I can't find out if it's possible the other way around. I do know it used to be, but can't see why they'd remove the facility.

I don't know what you mean by "NBA", but I suspect you are talking about the removal of all PMR transmissions in Band 3 sub-band 2. However, this only applies to a line roughly between the Severn and the Humber, so West Mids isn't affected.

London Buses for example moved to the JRC band (139.5–140.5)

Anyone monitored these with TrunkView and noted the sysIDs of the various sites?
"Search engine? How do I find that?"
"Sod it, let someone else do it"
