I think the AA and RAC use airwave but not the TEA2 system the police,! but and other one like TEA1 or TEA3 I believe
the AA was on
85.500 to 87.7875
the RAC was
87.00 to 87.0375
I also note a note that brake down was on 202.350 that was year 2002.
Sorry but my understanding they have been gone for a good 5 years now , unless you scan the bands and pick up a local brake down on VHF/UHF, your look of look
any other TM1 member know different let me know.

Re: frequencys
Do they have radio in their van's now for radio contact. Or is it just the DATA link the AA users with mobile phones. has I was thinking they where on the Airwave users list.
Is that all the RAC has now just Mobile phones , must be hard when they could be called any where in the UK, has there are placers around me there no mobile phone coverage.

Re: frequencys
I've got a couple of breakdown services in my scanner, they're between 160-170 mhz, not much use to you as they're in the north east but try scanning around there.
Maybe those are independent companies but I thought the AA and RAC got the local garage to come out and help you anyway. They are quite active.

Re: frequencys
AA and RAC are both use GSM/3G - no radio. AA have a vehicle PC with a data modem with everything going through external GSM/3G antenna's on the roof.
Some smaller companies use radio. There's a Greenflag franchise near me that uses a shared Band III system and many others do.

Re: frequencys
The heavy recovery guys we use at work have radios in the cab, not sure what they are as i have only seen the mic hanging down, anyway they never use it as they just use mobile phones. Some companys use the fleetcom freqs as do some mobile tyre fitters.
