Newcastle-under-lyme Shop/Pubwatch Callsigns

Post by Andyman »

Hi everyone!

I have just set up my 92XLT to listen to shopwatch/pubwatch in Newcastle-under-lyme.

Does anyone happen to know the callsigns/Numbers they use to identify each shop/pub. I had a search in the forum and someone had posted them previously but the link doesnt seem to be working anymore.

I have worked out that 99 appears to be an officer on foot but thats about it!

Many thanks

If its anything like Hanley then the callsigns are quite easy to work out, especially for the pubs. The pubs tend to be the first two letters of the venue.

Maybe my list I made for Hanley will help?

Out of interest what freq are you receiving newcastle on?

Thankyou very much!! I wasnt really sure who I was listening to if I am honest. I have just turned on the radio and from you list seems like the most traffic I get is from Hanley 456.675! The other frequency I listen to is 456.525.

I did hear the mention of Stubbs street by newcastle bus station from "two five" and "zero four" but I did not check which frequency was in use but I presume it was 456.525. I will keep my eyes peeled!

I have just heard "Yates" mentioned on 456.525 so I am pretty sure that that frequency is newcastle shopwatch

I can confirm that Hanley is 456.675 & also 455.825
I also have Newcastle stored in my scanner as 456.525 but cant say I ever hear anything on this channel. Must be too far away. I'm just outside of Hanley.

I also have
Longton - 461.525
Meir - 456.6

I'm sure there is a Bentilee channel as well as it is sometimes mentioned on the Hanley one but so far I've not found it.

Thanks for the all the info. I will have a listen on the other Hanley frequency as well.

I have had my scanner on the newcastle shop/pubwatch today and it has not been very busy at all so I dont think your missing much! The Hanley frequency is much more active.

I live in the middle of newcastle and I can get both the hanley and Newcastle from my handheld antenna.
