Gritters Staffs/WM

Post by mute »

Just heard the gritters. Interesting to have around this time of year to see where and where they're not gritting :)

Just read another post about another county changing their freqs for this year. Anyone able to confirm Gritters in staffs are on the same as last year 162.525?

Just done a search on the WTR but nothing came up.

All gritters frequencies can be heard mostly all year round due to them just be general worker comms for local councils, so small roadworks, gritters etc use them, you hear them doing odd jobs but when winter settles in there main use is the snowploughs/gritter lorries.

Will plug it back into my new scanner then. Not seen any gritters around this part of the woods yet. I heard them last year.

The freq for my local gritters just came alive :D like you say think its just general comms at the moment.

Well I presume it is the council, same tone inbetween voice ( Beep Beep Beep )

I've been hearing various activities on 162.525 in the last couple of days, not sure if they were fritters though. Mostly in Stoke on Trent but in Stafford too. Is this frequency part of some big repeater network covering the larger area?

They have been out all day here in stoke/staffs, but it hasn't made any difference. Lots of the white stuff here.
