Confirmed frequencies, south west of Worcester

Post by apache100 »

I am about 5 miles SW of Worcester, and the following list is current and active during the last few months. All NFM unless otherwise stated.

164.6875 - Dial-a-ride
164.9 - Not sure what this is, sounds like a security firm
165.0125 - Car recovery firm
165.3 - security company, worcester (?)
165.4375 - security firm, only heard on my external antenna
166.1 - a hospital

Most of the PMR channels are active on and off. QinetiQ appear to use them for local trials. A local school uses them too.

430.05 - Internet voice gateway
440.7375 - ?
440.9875 - ? (possibly NIA? - external antenna only)
441.2 - ?
441.35 - Builders merchant delivery lorries?
441.575 - A warehouse or storage yard?
441.625 - roadworks lorries, or tarmac etc?
442.6875 - buses
443.4375 - railway yard
453.125 - I think this might be security for a university, no idea which one
453.8 - ?
453.825 - ?
453.925 - Worcester shopwatch, often very entertaining during shops opening hours

456.55 - Malvern shopwatch
456.95 - ?
456.9875 - Worcester Royal Hospital Security
459.55 - ?
459.5625 - ?
460.325 - ?
460.45 - ?
460.475 - ?
461.2875 - BT or utilities engineers?

As you can see some of these are of unknown or uncertain origin. If you can fill in any gaps, please do!

440.9875 is part of Birmingham City Council's trunked net.
Main transmitter site is one of the office blocks adjacent to Five Ways island.
Multiple licences, all assigned to the council's supplier:

http://spectruminfo.ofcom.org.uk/spectr ... nd+licence
http://spectruminfo.ofcom.org.uk/spectr ... nd+licence

441.4 is the trunked signalling channel.

Most commonly used to discuss feeding the animals at Cannon Hill Park Zoo :-O
Heaven knows why they spent so much public money on a city-wide trunked net that they hardly use, but that's councils for you, always spending our money on something…
KEY : = channel/stud | ~ = CTCSS/DCS | ^ = transmitter site | ¯ = overhead | * = trunked

This is a good one, draw from it what you like!
164.5875MHz, Malvern, this is the interesting bit,,,,

RAYNET were using it as part of the county comms for Worcester, tone 173Hz.
Callsigns in use were county and raynet.
