further cross checks reveal:

FM : 165.2125MHz - Royal Gwent Hospital Ch1 <------- actually its the RGH porters
FM : 165.1625MHz - Royal Gwent Hospital Car Park <------ old freq - superseded by 166.7625

Haven't even got a gun Dean! ;-)

I was just trying to help with corrections where I know the information to be out of date, and offer verifications
so that everybody that does maintain local lists (e.g. scanwales, PROMA1, radio reference, whoever) can update theirs.

Furthermore you've posted 3 new newport freqs that I am sufficiently close to be able to verify,
over the coming days. Again, I'm just trying to help keep information up to date.
if you have a more uptodate list then why not share it with us lesser mortals
I don't keep lists - I did start to years ago - but I <genuinely> don't have the time.

I respect those that do though, and try to "give back" to the community by contributing local corrections etc, to try and help the wider cause.

Genuinely sorry that I appear to have got your back up! , It was never my intention to do so - I'll verify the bus data / spytty storenet / goldcliff airfield freqs, that I have committed to do, then I'll naff off & leave this part of the forums alone.

ok 453.100 then ...is it spytty retail park or not is the question ??

first pass analysis over a 12 hour period reveals:

4 user groups on the channel within range of newport with a total of 939 transmissions logged

CTCSS 146.2 is the busiest user - reading online , that is celstra steel in cardiff with 358 transmissions
CTCSS 118.8 is the next busiest with 129 transmissions, I believe that is security at the Office of national statistics, nearr duffryn , in Newport
CTCSS 136.5 is the next tone locked, but only 7 total hits in 12 hours - that will take some time to identify
CTCSS 107.2 is the lowest hit count with only 3 transmissions in 12 hours - that too will take some finding

also logged were 442 transmissions with "no CTCSS" but closer inspection reveals that this was due to splatter from 12.5 KHZ up on 453.1125 causing a fake log

the 107.2 user was only logged between 13:37 hours and 13:41 implying its only active at lunchtime...might therefore be a school , but too early too tell

the 136.5 user was only active between 19:40 and 20:16, this is unusual for a business channel , and may reflect pirate / unlicensed activity or a nightwatchman

I need to gather a lot more sample data to identify these last 2 users

more as things unfold

Re: GWENT FREQUENCIES

seems theres another user on there too.

CTCSS 88.5 Hz , but only transmitted twice in 48 hours around 17:00 hours

definitely a storenet with 5 tone signalling

A trawl around the PROMA database reveals this to be Caerphilly Storenet.
understandably a weak signal from here - several significant hills in the way

CTCSS 107.2 has made no re-appearance , therefore this gets harder to identify, and re-enforces
the idea that it could be unlicensed

I'm now pretty sure that the 136.5hz user is splatter from 12.5KHz away - i'll test that today

CTCSS 136.5 now confirmed as splatter from 453.1125

frustratingly there appears to be another user who is not using tone lock on .100
but there is so much splatter from .1125 I doubt I will be able to make out much

i'll try and attenuate this but that will also attenuate the wanted signal

I think .1125 is the steelworks, or possibly the power station

hm....4 days straight monitoring and not a single hit on ctcss 107.2 in that period
clearly its not the storenet

I'll keep the logging going a few more days before I discount it

AM : 130.400MHz - UpField Farm Airfield Llanwern
I have now seen documentary evidence to support "Upfield radio" on 119.5MHz
