In West Cardiff these are most active -

St Davids Security 456.4500
Storenet 453.6937
Cdf Parks 165.7625
Cdf Parks 167.3875
Bin Lorries 160.5375

Ch7 PMR is busy with local High School in Welsh and English
and a Care home on Ch1

Plus various Aircraft.
Both myself and my Dad in North Cardiff (with a handheld) Pick up Bristol airport tower very clear.

the main safety / store net is indeed a private TMO TETRA system

there are "out of town" store nets though , one or two are still analogue (e.g. Newport rd by maplin)
but hardly ever used as - believe it or not - the security staff havent been trained !

Also a number of people have reported "cardiff storenet" when its acutally been one near taffs well or
Penarth!

also 456.450 is not st davids

just take a look at the ofcom WTR

Queens arcade:
http://spectruminfo.ofcom.org.uk/spectr ... 00%2076500

This im 99% sure is DMR cap+

Cardiff city council:
http://spectruminfo.ofcom.org.uk/spectr ... %20licence

This points to a mast near the footie stadium so if theres storenet traffic on there its most likely the one next door to there (capital retail park)

Is anyone able to confirm the Central Cardiff Storenet TETRA frequency and/or the TETRA frequency used by the Stadium? 422.550?

stadium is in the WTR - T/A license assigned to "PMR PRODUCTS" of Chepstow

during the recent Rugby a LOT of stadium traffic was on a cardiff based DMR COMREP in the 440s (cap+ and RAS)

Safety net (store / pub) is on frequencies licencsed nationally to arqiva.

On 456.4500 I've heared problems with escelators not working, Fire exit in Wood Street is open, checking on a shop that was late opening and sending someone to tell a shop to move boxes from a fire exit.
I'm in Pentrabane area with a Bearcat 15x and a basic aerial in the loft.

And this morning they were asking control to contact the council about the weeds at the St.Mary street entrance

Bruin your spot on that 456.4500 appears to be some sort of maintenance or walking guards for the old queens arcade? baffles me why they are still using the old system when everyone else is using the TETRA TMO ... ah well wonder how long that will last...

Welshevo, this is not uncommon

in Newport for example you have friars walk (simplex DMR) and the Kingsway centre (DMR repeater - Group 4S managed service)

However, both control rooms are also heard on the main city store / pubnet (a DMR repeater)

cost is the usual limiter :-)

This im 99% sure is DMR
but when i'm wrong I'm wrong! and not afraid to admit it .

the one that I thought went DMR was castle arcade - not queens arcade

queens arcade is the one to the north of st davids 1 & 2

My bad! Sorry gents !

evidently if you and Bruin are hearing analogue voice then they are almost certainly using both

why not ? theyre paying for a tech assigned licence !

But bear in mind also that in big city centre malls its not uncommon to have 2 systems:

* A storenet for security guards and retail staff (often called the retail net)

* An Admin net - facilities management - on site cleaners - car park attendants - first aiders etc)

And from Bruins description of the traffic heard - (im assuming this is "golf 1" - about S4 here) it sounds like
this is the Admin net

and equally its not uncommon for those systems to be provided by the same radio supplier
(e.g. storenet systems / MRS / apex radio and so on)

look at cribbs causeway (bristol) for example - two such systems provided by storenet systems
