Mac Loop near to Dolgellau

Post by camerashy »

I have just ordered a Uniden 3500XLT and went down to the Mac Loop for the first time last week. not much traffic but then the weather was bad.
Could anyone please tell me what Military frequencies I would need to programme into the scanner to listen to traffic passing through the Loop.
Any help greatly appreciated
Thanks
Dave

No prob mate - looks like you have plenty to be going on with. All the frequencies I posted were 'all the Welsh ones' from: http://www.fightercontrol.co.uk

Let us know how you get on :D

Hi

Cool, thanks for the map, will have to try and work out a route to one or two of these places and drive up there whilst on holiday.

Other than Valley / London Mil frequencies, best one for the loop is 278.000. This is the low level frequency on which aircraft will sometimes blind call their entry in to the low level system - obviously depends where they are when they call whether you will pick them up, but I have heard aircraft calling about to enter the loop when I've been up there.
