I found these figures on Knights Electrocom a site about PSU's:
As a rough guide to the size of power supply you will need:
3A = 5W, 5A = 30W, 8A = 60W, 10A = 100W, 30A = 200W
An 8amp would be AMPLE
surely

I guess that depends on if you only ever intend on powering one device from your power supply. It's never wise to use something at 100% capacity (which a 5 Amp continuous supply would be). With 8 Amps you have a safety margin for your radio that will not stress the power supply. With a 10-12 Amp power supply you will have room to grow (with a healthy safety margin to avoid stressing the power supply). If you look around you will see that you might as well buy a 10-12 Amp power supply as an 8 Amp supply (price wise).
I guess I'm a bit biased. I have LOADS of stuff sucking juice out of my power supply!

Well i'll have a nose around and see what i can pick up but i did see a 8 amp at maplins for 40 quid.
Oh and by the way i got a secondhand signal booster off ebay for +?3.25, it's a ham-master EV-15. Never heard of it myself but for that price you can't go wrong matey.
