Sirio 827

Post by thundercat »

Hello all
I’ve just acquired a sirio 827 one question I have though
Do I have to use the radials or can I just leave it without?
What we're dealing with here is a complete lack of respect for the law.

designed to have radials so Id say it will hamper performance without them.

the radials on the 827 are quite long and have a tendency to vibrate. you can get a reinforcement ring

Thanks for all your replies, I’m having an absolute mare tuning it, I’ve set the tuning whip at 400mm which is 27.185mhz but my swr is 3, do I need to reduce or increase its length?

No idea. If SWR grows along with ch number antenna is too long.
But the most important question is: where is the resonance? SWR is less important.
