As stock they're an excellent radio. They use the PB010 AA/AB PCB and are identical to the Cobra 148 GTL-DX in all but name.

Now, and here's the rub, how they are now depends on the life they've had. Mods, abuse, repairs, golden screwdriver experts are just some of the issues to consider when it comes to a radio that's up to 38 years old. Not many have had an easy life.

To give you more info it would help if you could post some photo's and give some info on the radio.

Great !

Most of us Uniden fans were brought up with this radio , or it's twin brother , the 148 GTL-DX . If you dissect the radio then I'm sure you'll find a ton of things wrong with it . But for me it still ticks all the boxes . And it still looks better than the new stuff :)

Its a radio I've seen on Ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/113363668122 that's why I asked your opinions.
I started on CB in 1978 through the 80's and used a Tristar 747 that was tunes by a local ham that went to my school.
Thanks for the replies

I prefer them to the 148GTL-DX for a couple of reasons.

Firstly they are easier to find in good unmolested condition, and secondly they are cheaper as you are not paying extra for the name.

That's way over priced. Yes, it's a very nice example. But that price tag is ridiculous. I got a brand new NOS Cobra 148 GTL-DX for less than half of what's being asked for that 360 FM and the 148's are the more desirable radio. Of course if you want to buy it that's your choice, but for that money I'd be looking at an ICOM MK2-G.

I wouldn't pay more that 100$ for that. Simply not worth.

That's why I was asking for honest opinions and I do appreciate your opinions. Yes it is a lot of money to say what it cost when it was brand new.
I know its in mint condition and if maybe he could come down on the price? but I haven't decided on what radio to get yet.
But thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my post as I do appreciate it and hopefully I will get something soon.
Thanks again.

I was lucky to find a near mint one, except the output on AM and FM is 17 watts, would that be about 50 watts on SSB? Cripes . . it is a very nice radio.

I doubt if it's 17W on FM . You'll never get that from a 2SC2312 . Regardless you might want to turn that down as you'll blow the finals . Someone may also have jumpered the 13V supply directly onto the collectors . I've came across that a few times .

I got my FT-857 for less than that, opened up for 5Mhz, and VGC too.
The perfect face for radio.

Ebay France is a good place to find 360FM's.

I have had a fair few, some really nice others ropey but they are usually pretty well priced.

Take it the Icom 706 is for a mate then that you are looking for in the wanted section, would have thought you would've went for the 857d ;)
Plenty are talking worldwide on 27.555 usb,

Many happen to know otherwise dx-ing test free,
