I doubt if it's 17W on FM . You'll never get that from a 2SC2312 . Regardless you might want to turn that down as you'll blow the finals . Someone may also have jumpered the 13V supply directly onto the collectors . I've came across that a few times .
I've got 2 and they're doing over 20w on FM with variable power on the swr knob and the swr meter still works.
When I was talking local I could turn the power down so that only locals could hear me.
They both have Simon Tadcaster stickers in them.

20W ... And it hasn't been modded... ?? Look . Good luck with that . I wouldn't keep it keyed up for more that 20 seconds . Also . Why you're there you may want to check your AM modulation . Bet it's almost non-existent .

Yea it goes from 0 to 20 but on am if it's up full there's no modulation
I've had em 18 yrs I'd guess that they are modded they came to me like that.

Hello

If there is no modulation in AM but normal FM and BLU and the power is at +/- 20watts the transistor TR51 2SA1012 is defective

Replacement possible with a 2SB754

That's not the case Clause . If the deadkey power is increased to maximum , then there's no RF "left" to modulate the carrier . The deadkey TX power needs to be brought back down to 4/5W and then you'll be able to modulate it fully . Can't remember the exact formula to calculate it . 3 or 4 times the deadkey I think .

Hello,
i had the luck to test and power up all those CB rigs that you'll see here: https://www.hamradioshop.it/amarcord-c-1828.html
Starting with few volts, raising slowly the voltage. Then the owner of the shop put on the website all those who passed the check after years of inactivity.
There, you will see the few superstars still available. Mint conditions, never used. HTH if you want to spare some bucks in respect to your ebay link.
- i'm not the owner of the store, i work part time as lab technician for him -
And yes, the owner was enough kindly to let me choose some transceivers from the stock :) but this is another story...

73,
Cristiano.

Those Superstar 360's put the one for sale at £450 to shame. They work out at roughly half the price.
Never, ever, ever....bloody anything ever!

Far too many radio's to list here. But I do own a legal one...

Hello Astradyne,
The ss360 i mentioned aren’t part of the outpriced 450£ ss360 on ebay. Just for the sake of clarity, as you can see by the prices of the link i posted. I don’t understand if you were referring to my post - but this is my fault, i’m not a pro with english :)
Except for the stalker base and colt base, the prices he put on in the website are quite fair for mint NOS rigs, considering taxes. In Italy we have an incredible amount of taxes if you run a commercial/VAT activity.

Not your fault at all Sir. I was merely comparing the prices of the radio's in your link to the very expensive (very overpriced) 360FM which is on eBay at the moment. I think we all understand that the radio currently on eBay is not linked to you in any way whatsoever.
