If its running standard power (20 watts PEP SSB) Then it should draw around 7 amps, So i'd go for a 10 amp / 12 surge PSU, That way your not running it flat out,Pocketrocket2004 wrote: ↑25 Jul 2018, 16:55 Anyone recommend a power supply for a president lincoln mk1?

Always nice to have a bit extra as mentioned, plus you can always use the excess to power some 12v lights on say a Zetagi Transmatch meter etc, or even a small amplifier if you've got plenty of amps free.

Power supply.
I'm by far no radio expert but I have tried a couple power supplies recently. One simply impressed me.
I watch occasionally a YouTube guy, fredintheshed and a friend told me about this review to watch.
He did a video on a led power supply ,how stable and quiet it was.
So I purchased from the supplier he linked too for my Linc1.
I purchased the 33amp version. You need to add a power cord flex of which I added a quality iron flex .
I then run the supply and by adjusting a vr set voltage to 13,8v which has stayed bang on.
I will add a digital voltage display to front in time but have one sitting on top monitoring why used.
Added rubber feet bellow to lift it off deck to aid cool air flow.
Fan is pretty quiet too and effective.
Been using it often with no complaints.
If I'm honest I much prefer a 12v battery, 120amp leisure battery .I have two pluss car batteries .
Hardly ever needs charging and has 0 noise.no need for fans ,no noise and will not become faulty with use for Yeats maybe a decade or longer if cared for.
Can be placed in a battery box for correct safe storage.
For me a battery ,especially if using a amp too.

Re: Power supply for a president Lincoln.
I sold an old Sony Playstation transformer at a car boot sale last weekend. I know of people that have adapted those for use with radios. I believe you can get about 15-18amps use from them and they can be picked up for a couple of quid or you may have one in you loft you can mess with if reasonably competant with electrics (don't go blaming me if you zap yourself though ) lol.
