Superstar 2400

Post by cb4ever104 »

Hi All.

I've an issue with my SS2400 . Basically it doesn't switch to give the full VCC to the driver and final when on SSB . It gives the same AM/FM 5-6V regardless of the mode . Now if it was the typical 010/EPT3600 clone board , then I'd know where to go to sort this out . But it doesn't . It uses the wonderful EPT240010Z board (thanks Ranger !) , and the pcb layout is completely different . I've emailed Ranger and they have no information on this pcb . Just wondering if anyone on here had anything technical on it . If not then I'll just need to try and go through it visually bit by bit starting from the mode switch .

Cheers

This normally happens if the radio has been cross wired and the thin ground trace to the SSB switch blows, Or the transistor itself is gone, Check any traces connected to the protection diode, Sorry i cant be of anymore help.

Hi Nick. Thanks for that. It'll give me somewhere to start. Where's the SSB switching transistor located on this PCB. More or less ? Cheers !
