Old CB radio equipment found at amateur radio rallies 2018

Post by 108EH002 »

Just a thread for anyone wanting to share their CB radio purchase, that they picked up at an amateur radio rally in 2018,as there is usually something at the bigger events.Looking forward to Blackpool amateur rally next month, just to see the CB radio gear.....as you never know eh.

Many happen to know otherwise dx-ing test free,

This sort of thing is already listed in the "CB crap I saw on ebay and won whilst drunk today" thread as a rule.

Ok cheers for the info Collector, just that I have seen radios like lincoln's/148's/3900/955hp (the 955 was £130 fully working and boxed)and jumbos at the Gala rally the few times I have went.Didn't think people would want to share the "crap" they have bought.....but the radios/antennas they got much cheaper than bought on the bay.Oh well you live n learn.

The majority of CB radio stuff I've seen at rallies looks in far worse condition than the rubbish you see on eBay.

Mint condition Colt Excalibur Ssb homebase with handles bought at Gala for £80 a few year ago.Might be a wee convoy going to Blackpool from up here,a ragchew on the way down and a look at the "crap" is better in my book than stuck in the house on the bay paying too much, each to their own eh.

Don't do rallies but bike Autojumbles instead.. usually see a few CB's but the best of the lot was a boxed Uniden 200 'as new' £10! Needless to say i bought it and punted it on making a wage into the bargain..
Did Newark Autojumble a couple of weeks back an there were plenty of CB stuff on various stalls but tbh it was all overpriced rubbish.

Have been to Livingstone once (not much),Gala twice and Blackpool once in the last few years, and it is really only since my mate got his foundation that we have went to a rally.I agree a lot of the gear is tat,but some folk look after their radios regardless if its a straight 40ch or top of the range ham radio and that's why we went to "meet the breakers".
