Cheapest new Radio in uk.
Just for a bit of fun, post up links to the cheapest new CB radios availabke in the UK.
I have see Inteks and Luitons for sale at Maplin in the recent past for £20 or so new, that is the sort of stuff I mean.
Those new to the hobby, or those after a second set for the car may be interested in such a thing.

There is no such thing as a Fidelity 1000 which is too good to scrap.

I know you can get a CRT 1 for around £40, but they don't do much for me. I don't like the TX audio or the fixed microphone.

In my opinion FM/AM rigs aren't really worth owning in this day and age. SSB is what's needed.Mudslinger wrote: ↑04 Feb 2018, 16:32 I know you can get a CRT 1 for around £40, but they don't do much for me. I don't like the TX audio or the fixed microphone.
Never, ever, ever....bloody anything ever!
Far too many radio's to list here. But I do own a legal one...

Re: Cheapest new Radio in uk.
There seems to be a number of sellers of the CRT One & S-Mini for sale, with prices varying somewhere between £45-£50 which is not bad for a brand new basic AM/FM multi-norm radio.

Re: Cheapest new Radio in uk.
Nocando have them for £37.50, but I would rather pay extra.
I am hoping someone can turn up something similar to the £20 Maplin special Intek.

Re: Cheapest new Radio in uk.
I didn't think I'd like the CRT one with it being a new radio and everything else I've got is 20 yrs + old but to be fair its a good little radio for using in the jeep. For a usable budget rig it was a lot better than i thought.

Re: Cheapest new Radio in uk.
Just banged in an offer and got one for £41.50 delivered. Better than a CRT 1 IMO.

On a scale of 1 -10,how good was the M-tec legend 1 radio on fm,compared to an old school 40ch fm CB radio Simon ?
Plenty are talking worldwide on 27.555 usb,
Some are too far up their own @rse to admit it,
Many happen to know otherwise dx-ing test free,
Showing a complete lack of respect for the law.

Re: Cheapest new Radio in uk.
That would depend on the old school set.
It works better than my first radio a Maxcom 20e that is for sure.
I would say it would hold its own against most old school sets, the only let down with it is the small speaker inside.
TX audio is very good on the standard mic and on my silver eagle.

Re: Cheapest new Radio in uk.
Have recently purchased an AE6110 V3 am/fm ultra compact CB,not the cheapest but it works good enough when you consider what it costs new.An Extension speaker makes it even better, and it will fit in a modern car where most 80ch radios won't.I wouldn't normally buy a radio without SSB,but this is a good compact CB radio for anyone wanting a small radio for mobile use imo.My Audioline 340 still beats it on rx,especially weak signals
