I wouldn't pay that kind of money for any CB radio, someone just paid £450 for a Jentec cobra on ebay!! more money than sense if you ask me.

One mans £300 is another mans £30,maybe they always wanted one but couldnt afford it.....and now they can after selling lots of other overpriced stuff (profit) at least he never bought a top o the range yaekencom to replace the last overpriced radio at thousands, each to their own and if he doesnt like it he can list it for £400 as someone will think its better if its dearer the way things are going, but hopefully its a keeper and he likes it.

Good thing about the Jentec is you could buy one to " scratch your itch " off actually owning one / find out just how average they actually are and in a years time get your dosh back for it.... now there can't be many rigs that give you that ?!... and no it was not me who bought it !!

I couldn't of put it better myself, I've always loved the look of the J3 and a pristine and fully lit one would make a fine ornament on one of the shelves in my shack, if only I could justify the cost to Mrs Grafter.
my friend grafter, seems like you are using a very offensive tone in the reply.

To Grafter, out of the 50 odd radios I have used and then sold in the last 7/8 years, there was only one that I would have liked to have kept.....a silver 160 ch Colt Excalibur Ssb homebase, yes I know its only a mobile board in a big case with a built in psu,but I liked it.....each to their own eh.....and my mate got it for £40 off one of the locals that had bought it at the local radio rally many years ago.Maybe better mentioning to mrs grafter that the homebase Cb radio you like,is actually a tiny fraction in price, compared to a top of the range homebase amateur radio. No matter how much you eventually pay for the J3 it will still be worth about the same in a few years time.....unlike how much you would lose buying a new all singing and dancing amateur homebase radio that would cost a small fortune.Better maybe looking up closest amateur rallies near you this year, and you never know what you might find CB radio wise, always usually something decent, and it will have been well looked after hopefully, plus you might get a wee discount.Top price in my world £150 for a minted and boxed one but some folk are greedy, just the radio and original mic only, maybe £100-£120,but thats just me.

You have to admit, as far as build quality goes, the Jumbo/Excalibur etc, the casing is just about indestructible. Very well made indeed. And I do have a soft spot for the Multimode 2 (In fact I own one). But the MM2 in a huge case and the equally huge prices they fetch doesn't appeal to me. Nice though they are.

I Much preferred the Galaxy Saturn I owned a few years back. The quality build of the Jumbo, but with a Uniden board and frequency counter.

I kind of regret selling that.
Never, ever, ever....bloody anything ever!

Far too many radio's to list here. But I do own a legal one...
