Re: Who bought the Jumbo 3 on ebay ?
Best of it is it had the wrong lid on it (diagram was wrong for a 3 series) and for some reason a decal where the band switch is?
The last two sold locally have fetched £300 but were both working fine with the UK 40 added and the negative channels working as they should.
Sometimes people struggle to fit the eprom with these as the channel switch uses 9 volts so the eproms output wont provide enough output to feed the HC806 ic that is between the switch and the pll. This gives the radio the daft negative channels that Ham thought were the future ie the lowest channel is 80.
I prefer my Larry

And here's me thinking that only Ebay.co.uk was nuts .
https://www.ebay.es/itm/173134024547
Couldn't believe that someone paid almost €450 (with postage) here in Spain for this . I mean this is the same site and country where I bought a boxed MMII (with 121 pcb) for about £20 a few years back . This guy started his listing at €150 , and I didn't even think he'd get that . Ended up going for €400 . I'm at a loss for words .

The poiwer of nostalgia, with the purchasing power of a retirement pay-off.
Jumbos et al are creeping up over here, too. A couple of years ago you'd see them in boot sales etc for fifty quid or less. Not now.
