There is no such thing as a Fidelity 1000 which is too good to scrap.

"Good" "ssb" ft100D :)
Main box to trunk or under a seat.
You can't have too many antennas...

I have a Alinco dr135uk which is about the same size as a car radio, however like you my car doesn't have any place in the dashboard to put it however I just mount a rig bracket to the side of the centre console which works fine.
Check out some of my YouTube channel in my signature to see larger rigs in the car like the York 863,

A Dirland 9353 ( or rebadged variant). These are even smaller than the SS9900's.

Albrecht 2990 ssb handset with the ext mic and a wee amp under the seat.Would a handset sit in the cup holder ? Worked fine with ma Uv5r,just a thought Warlock.
You can talk worldwide on CB radio aswell = not 10 - 15 miles
rsgb/ofcom are too far up their own @rses to admit it = snobs
but many freebanders just happen to know otherwise = 27MHz

Test free CB is enough for me.
