Have you tried an 827 at your location ? Swapped my A.b.s 1600 for an 827 and the 827 worked far better for me at the same height.I know a lot disagree,saying they wouldn't last as good as fibreglass antennas do,but I had one up and the wind topped 95mph here and the 827 was 30Ft up,400Ft asl.My mate lives 900Ft asl,and his 827 has seen some big winds in the last few years,and it is still fine.Maybe better with an ali antenna that has 4 1/4 wave groundplane legs instead of 8 shorter ones if you have the space..........if only.mrpsychopath wrote: ↑29 Oct 2017, 12:51 Already had aluminium antennas chris, the dont get 2 yrs with weather here. Hve not tried an 827, got an a99 and an i2000 up until one fails. Then i will try something else.
