new setup for the WRC

Post by Kymru »

i am planning on following the WRC in Oct for a couple of days, i own a Volvo V50 so i am looking at the Albrecht AE6110 to put in it

i am planning on getting a small mag mount to go between the aerial and the boot at the back of the car, so a 3" mag should do, i don't want a huge aerial, but something that will get a few miles, any suggestions on an aerial?

and is anyone planning on following the WRC on any of the days?

Just get a cheapo 5ft Stinger/Springer and the cheapest 6/7" magmount you can find. It'll get out a few miles and take lots of abuse, especially if it might be getting hit by trees etc. If 3ft is you maximum, then maybe a Dial-a-Match type will suffice, but I personally wouldn't trust a 3" mag if going off-road at all. I've had a 5" mag and aerial swing along the side of my old mk1 Escort when I used to sway it sideways and it's not nice...plus it's a pain to polish the scratches out! ;)
