Never seen a Philippines 3900 in the flesh, although I was aware that they do exist.

This particular example doesn't have the usual EPT36XXXXX board

I had a Philippines 3900 a while back. It was manufactured by the Dragon Corporation. I posted several pictures of it on here at the time. It was a half decent radio.

Edit: just found the link to a thread I started back then.

They are not up to the quality of those earlier ones that were made in Taiwan ROC, as stamped on the rear of the chassis, that would be the MK1 and MK11's. I'm not familiar with the Jacksons, grants or Lincolns so can't pass comment on them.

The original versions of these radios and not the new versions that President are putting out are all classic Uniden radios made in the Philippines and are very good Tim

I really liked the Philippnes Jackson, wasn't keen on the Chinese built ASC one I had.

Just do the AGC mod and they are as good as you will get on SSB for a CB type set.

The Philippines Lincolns were actually better than the Taiwan built ones. The ones from Taiwan had a few issues, including the annoying TalkBack thing that couldn't be turned off and nobody wanted.

A few 2830's were also made in the Philippines, but they fizzled out very quickly.

I think Tim might have his wires crossed somewhere . As far as quality goes then the Philippine made radios are held in higher respect than the Taiwan ones .

I totally agree, but people carry on about the Taiwan built Silver Jackson, and the Taiwan built 360FM's and Cobras.

I have had the Black Philippines Jackson's, Philippines 360FM's and Philippines Jack and Richard and they have been superb.
