Funny 1n4007 diode

Post by prettypolly »

I've got a funny 1n4007 diode if I test it on the circuit board it's say it's open circuit knackered but when I test it off the circuit board it's reading it's OK ??

Testing components in-circuit is not going to get you anywhere as you won't get correct measurement results.
What meter range are you using for the test?

That's pretty weird . Sometimes the resistance might be higher with it in circuit , but I've never had one measure open . Are the contacts clean on it ?
