West Sussex and east Hampshire net

Post by TimH1971 »

Hi

Thinking of getting one of these off the ground on a weekly basis.

There is an Eastbourne net on a Thursday on UKFM but a really tough one to work if you are west of Worthing.

Therefore is anyone interested in one that caters for Worthing down towards Portsmouth?

Would Monday evenings be ok?

Which frequency would be preferred? UKFM or SSB?

Anyone interested please reply, let's give it a fortnight to see if there is enough interest out there.

Cheers

Tim.

I reckon SSB would be the best band to work on, especially when it's quiet, like later evenings and it's surprising how far ground wave will travel, Tuesday morning at around 9.30am I had a QSO with a chap static mobile in Bournemouth and I spoke to him again a couple of hours later, that's a fair distance from my QTH on Dartmoor. I enjoy these contacts just as much, if not more, than overseas contacts. I'd say go for it, you may be pleasantly surprised at the results.

Thanks Tim I was thinking SSB because of the extra distance often achieved. Hopefully some more responses soon!
