Sirio Mobile Antenna ????

Post by highvoltageuk »

For some years now ive had this antenna but never got any details on what it was :?:
As you might be able to see its an Sirio mobile, 8 ground planes with a so239 mount.
Its simular to an 827 homebase antenna.
From what i remember i did a short test between a Sirio Hi-power 5000 but there wasnt much between them

Thanks for looking

If your question is 'is this a mobile antenna' I would suggest not, it looks like a homebased one to me with the groundplane.

I modded my space shuttle by removing one turn from the top of the coil & drilling the cone to take a longer better quality valor 520 halfbreed whip,
it performed the same as my wilson 1000 & 5000 when stationary and bent half as much as the wilsons at speed.

The only troubles i have is the ground planes come loose might need some threadlock.
Makes you wonder why Sirio stopped making them....COST i imagine.
