Hi guys

Was wondering if anyone could help me out.

I'm looking for frequencies to scan. Got the UK Scanning Directory 2010, but was wondering if there was anything added to a later version of this or if anyone knows if there are any interesting frequencies to listen to in the Buckinghamshire/Bedfordshire/Hertfordshire areas?

Seen frequencies for what look like to be everywhere but nothing for my neck of the woods (Buckinghamshire).

Anything anyone has would be much appreciated. Cheers

Hi Chris there are some guys on here that will have more frequencies for you
I wouldn't bother with the UK scanning directory with its so called "daily updates"

Most of the stuff in there is donkeys years old and is no longer valid
the only "updates" it gets is presumably a change of year on the cover

its all freely available info anyway, and you need the current stuff.

Some gonk that collected lists in 2003 and has been pasting more freq's on since for flogging to eBay brain donors
without checking...it just means its more frustrating than useful...mind you it still has one use ..

Use the WTR to find business frequencies:

(Though the VHF low ones seem hardly used)

If you tell us which town you are in/near people will be better able to offer suggestions.

I used the PROMA Online database for years but it has not been maintained recently although much of the historical data in the Scanning 2011 section is still valid with the exception, perhaps, of changes to digital technology for TV (DVB-T), Radio (DAB) and Emergency Services (Airwave TETRA).

I am also a member of the UK Radio Scanning Forum although I have not been active there for some time so I'll leave you to decide how useful it may be to you.

You could try RAF Halton, a few miles SE of Aylesbury.

More of a training/admin site than an airfield, although they do operate gliders and ATC flights.

Reported air freqs are 130.425 and 356.275. I' ve not confirmed either personally.

May also be a UHF freq around 409 MHz, plus ATC comms evenings/weekends.
