You'll pick up the amateur radio 2m band between 144-146mhz (mainly 145-146)

Hmm, if you scan between 160-170 you should find stuff, depends where you live really, in a town centre you'll find loads.

Off the top of my head i think the marine band is 154-156?

No doubt some other people will give more sugestions.

ambulances are a good one 166mhz never any shortage of activity from them
also taxis just above the ambulances 166.5-170mhz a good time to try for taxis is friday evening around tea time
and tonight (sat) will be busy also
band should be crammed in Lewisham unless you're in a bad spot
