Post by oldpink »

I have a Couple of rigs I want to check out and looking for someone local that can do a radio check
first up I want to check a Cobra 148 GTL DX as apart from a few sporadic transmissions I'm getting nothing on any channel and band
I have a Ham Major that seems to have volume issues but I need a mike as well
also anyone have a 10m radio I could test out my Alan 9001
I hear Radio Waves in my head
CRT SS 6900 Fully modded Export setup programmable
Cobra 148 GTL DX Mk 2
Alan 9001 26 - 30.190 multi band
SDRPlay RSP1A x2 with a Create 5310 on a rotator and Discone for general

As far as i know theres a regular net on channel 16 UK (Or at least there used to be) Few guys from your neck of the woods, Hamilton, Wishaw, Motherwell, etc, I'd give you a check but i don't have an 11m antenna setup.

P.S I See your a fellow floyd fan,

27.555 is always busy when I'm mobile down that general area. Might be worth trying channel 12 mid band on USB

as far as I know I'm monitoring 27.555 (Ch12) which as far as I know from the Cobra manual should be on the High band
problem is I suspect my rig has been modified so not sure it the Low / mid / high are what they say they are
I did pick up some chatter on ch 12 earlier but just some guys mobile chatting somewhere around loch lomond
so I assume my aerial is working, hopefully I can test the Alan tomorrow on 10M so should be able to pick up something to confirm the Aerial is working and SWR is good

Love Floyd Seen Gilmour & Roger loads of times and I used to work with a Floyd tribute band as sound engineer
