Hello there.
Hi all just new to the forum. I've purchased a beofeng uv5r just to get me started. Cheap but you need to start somewhere. Any ideas on what I can pick up on it. I'm usually out in the car so I'm keen to see what I can pick up on it. Any help would be appreciated

Re: Hello there.
The uv5r is a good wee radio, for general stuff you should program in all the simple site frequencies and hire frequencies, most are simplex so only pick up comms when relatively close.
Lots of construction and shops use them for internal comms.
Pmr446 also.
Simple site and hire frequencies can be found on ofcoms website.
